This is SNOW cool!

Every year when I put up the "snowflake" decorations students think they are so cool. Well, I've attached a video below that shows you how to make your very own snowflakes...but I used tape and staples instead of glue.

Going batty for books!

Going batty for books!

We are going batty in the library this week.

Kindergarten and preschool are learning a "5 little bats" poem and having some fun with a bat finger puppet as we learn about bats this week. You can make your own bat finger puppet by cutting the shape of a bat out of paper and cutting two slits in the middle of the bat so it will slip over your finger, pictured below.

Carla's Sandwich

This week we read the book Carla's Sandwich and talked about how boring life would be if everyone looked the same, acted the same, ate the same things or even read all the same books. Life is interesting because of variety!

So far this year, Orchard students have logged 577,710 minutes on Road To Success. When we reach 1 million minutes, Mrs. Morley is going to eat a sandwich (Carla style) of your choosing for her lunch. Vote which "Carla" sandwich you think Mrs. Morley should eat on the right. Whatever sandwich has the most votes when we have logged 1 million minutes is the sandwich Mrs. Morley has to eat for her lunch.
