At the beginning of 2010 I challenged students to learn/try something new, or to spend some time developing a talent or interest they already have. This week I am sharing pictures drawn by an artist that didn't start drawing until he was paralyzed in high school and his brother put a pencil in his mouth and challenged him to a drawing contest. To see more of his art or just find out more about this artist click on the "Mouth Art" link under online resources list. I am amazed!

Storytelling

As we make preparations for our storytelling competition at school, scheduled for March 4th, I am giving students storytelling ideas they might use to prepare for the competition. The top ASD storytellers may have the opportunity to audition for, and possibly perform at, the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival. The stories don't have to be long, sometimes the shorter the better (less to remember). I found a great site with short stories from all around the world, perfect for storytelling . Go to the "Stories in a Nutshell" link to see this collection of stories. I've also added a link if you'd like to visit the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival site.
