This week we read the biography "Kate Shelley and the midnight express" by Margaret Wetterer, a story about a young girl, Kate Shelley, that saved the lives of two men when a railroad bridge was washed out, plus the lives of 200 others speeding toward the broken bridge on an express train

From Wikipedia...
Catherine "Kate" Shelley was a midwestern United States railroad heroine, and the first woman in the United States to have a bridge named for her. She was also one of the few women to ever have a train named after her, the Kate Shelley 400.
